COMPLEX AORTIC DISEASE HUMANISM AND MEDICINE

This selection of drawings is nothing other than the “modus operandi” to fix in my mind the patient, the disease, the intervention strategy decided and possible complications to be addressed. In a nutshell it is the case planning.

Motivated by friends and colleagues, I decided to publish some of these valuations, not for educational purposes, but to provide food for thought to all those who, like me, have devoted considerable attention to the pre-implantation evaluation.

I am aware that other medical professionals within the world of major vascular pathologies could address cases in many diverse ways. On the other hand, we are often confronted with diseases that are not strictly “encoded”, to which the process of allocating a standard technique according to guidelines is not permitted. In these cases, however, we seek to follow with the greatest scientific honesty.

You may find among several case studies in these pages, what you believe are procedural errors that experienced traders would not have committed. Reviewing some cases to “publish”, even today we would adopt a different operating strategy.

On the first page of each case you will find the individual case anatomical specifications and a short, simplified caption that communicates, in layman’s language, the operative strategy undertaken. On the second page preoperative and post operative follow up examination images, which are usually 3D reconstructions of CT scans, can be found.

I hope that he who appreciates the spirit of the work, may also want to share their opinions with the same constructive spirit and self-criticism with which I face this kind of problem daily.
